CURLING DOUBLES NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP 2016

 

Marc HANSEN and Ian MUNN 1st National Curling Doubles Champions

 

For the first time, the Luxembourg Curling Union organized a National Doubles Championship this weekend!!!

 

This new competition is going to be played at the Olympic Games in South-Korea 2018 for the first time with one woman and one man.

In Luxembourg, it is played for 1 man and one woman, two women or two men.

 

In a Round Robin, the 4 teams played each one against each one and the results were very close in all matches:

  1. Marc HANSEN/Ian MUNN 6 points, 13 ends, 23 stones
  2. Candice RICHARDS/Dan KELLY 4 points, 12 ends, 20 stones
  3. Karen WAUTERS/ Marco ETIENNE 2 points, 11 ends, 23 stones
  4. Susi BENOY/Alex BENOY 0 points, 10 ends, 19 stones

 

The GOLD MEDAL GAME was thereafter won by MARC HANSEN + IAN MUNN by 7-5 against Candice Richards + Dan Kelly.

And Karen Waters + Marco Etienne won the Bronze Medal Game against Susi + Alex Benoy by 8-4.
