International Activities 2016-2017

While most of us our still enjoying summer vacation the action on the ice has already commenced.  

The Luxembourg team of Marc Hansen, Yannick Hansen, Ian Munn and guest attended the Zoetemeer tournament.  The tournament was full of top level international teams, with Lux placing 14th.

Fabio and Francesco attended the WCF Adult training camp in Prague .  Can’t wait to see what new techniques and training ideas they will bring back!

Marc has indicated that he will be attending several international tournaments this year in preparation for the ECC C.  He will share which ones , so if there are other Lux teams which would like to attend and make the Lux presence even larger we can coordinate.

Looking forward to seeing everyone, on and off the ice, for another successful Luxembourg curling season.

Union / National Teams

Early April the National team (Marc Hansen,Francesco Grassi,Alex Benoy and Fabio Ventri) prepared their EC campaign by playing a preparation tournament in Switzerland.
After 3 victories, 1 draw and 1 defeat our team finished 3rd among 16teams by noting that our team scored the second highest number of stones.

2. Platz beim Internationalen Turnier des Düsseldorfer Curling Clubs

Luxemburger Nationalmannschaft schafft 2. Platz beim Internationalen Turnier des Düsseldorfer Curling Clubs.

Nach sehr guten drei ersten Matches,
gegen die Beavers (Vorjahressieger) 13-4, gegen Awesomesauce aus Holland 5-6 (unglückliche Niederlage) gegen das Damenteam aus Düsseldorf 8-7,

standen die Luxemburger im FINALE.

Gegen die Kölner um Skip James Weber war jeder Stein hartumkämpft und die Luxemburger haben gegen alle Prognosen 5-4 gewonnen.
Wegen des vorher verlorenen Spiels (siehe oben), fehlten allerdings 2 Ends zum Endsieg.

Aber wie sagt der Sportler gern: “Darauf lässt es sich aufbauen”.

Das Nationalteam bestand aus Marc Hansen, Skip, Alex Benoy, Francesco Grassi und Fabio Veltri.
