From April 26th to May 1st, Luxembourg’s Women’s Curling Team proudly represented the country at the European C-Division Championship in Östersund, Sweden.
This marks the first time in over 25 year that Luxembourg has fielded a women’s team in the competition—an exciting milestone for Curling Luxembourg as it continues to develop a strong presence on the international stage.

Over six games, the team—consisting of Virginie Hansen (skip), Shiori Kuboki, Betty Spurgeon, Maja Bjerg-Petersen and Carole Remesch, and coached by Rick Collins—faced off against tough opponents, showing determination and growth despite narrowly missing a win. As the season wraps up, the focus now shifts to recovery and continued training, with eyes already set on next year.
Highlighting their efforts, team member Shiori Kuboki received special recognition as the tournament’s MVP for excellence in the “Last Stone Draw” and outstanding sportsmanship—a proud moment for the team and Curling Luxembourg.
